... I've owned this vac for about a year and a half now. It does a good job on carpet, ok on hard floors and the filter is easy to clean. The vac has broken down twice now. Once under warranty a circuit board went out. This was replaced painlessly by the closest hoover vac dealer. Now the transmission drive for the HEPA filter has gone out. I took it apart and was not impressed to find plastic gears driving the filter. Pretty cheap engineering. I talked to the vac place and they say they repair a lot of these. My old hoover lasted 10 yrs with no breakdowns (I still use it in the shop) before I upgraded to what I thought would be a better vac. I should have saved the money. ...
